Win Explorer and Harddrive byte count

Cynicism

Senior member
Win explorer (and other programs that list bytes available from explorer), says I have 6 gigs left on a disc yet I am unable to put (copy, extract, whatever) data on it. Now when I delete some stuff, I then have room to extract, etc, so the problem I am guessing is that win exp. is not reporting the bytes correctly. Anyone have any solutions to this? Thanks

Run scandisk. Sometimes scandisk can repair drive errors that make the drive incorrectly report the amount of free space.
