I hope this isn't redundant, I don't visit this forum too much. But anyway the point:
I just got WinDVD 3.0 (full version), and I can't believe how much of an improvement this is over ATI's DVD player (piece of crap).
And this is with an ATI AIW. I thought their software was optimized to work with their hardware; with ATI software (that is supposed to support hardware acceleration), I get about 80% CPU load. With WinDVD, it's about 25%. Not to mention it looks MUCH better and has a superior interface; not to mention it outputs in regular Dolby Digital and DTS. This thing rocks!!!
Oh, and WinDVR...I can't even begin to tell you how much better it works than ATI's solution for a DVR. What the hell...you'd think the hardware manufacturer could put out a decent piece of software to support thier products. Oh well, live and learn.
