I don't normally whore out marketing (because who likes to listen to that trash? :p ), but we just launched a contest for ovationguitars.com.

If you submit a video of a short guitar tutorial, you can get a chance to win an ovation guitar (grand prize is a $5k custom guitar)

http://contest.ovationguitars.com/

I know a lot of people here play guitar so I figured I'd spread the word.

I have an Ovation bass, and have played a few Ovation guitars, although they sound alright but tinny the bowl back is a huge pain in the ass and I will never own another one.

I had an Ovation for a while, it was OK. I eventually sold it and picked up an Alvarez which I like much better.

bump to either promote a pretty sweet sounding deal or to get it moved to the right place.

Ovations are best plugged in imo. I don't care for the sound in pure acoustic mode, but when run through an amp they sound pretty good. I agree about the uncomfortable shape, especially when sitting down. It feels like it's trying to jump out of your lap :^D

Gah, didn't know there was a forum for sweeps!

They actually have a "contour bowl" which was made to fit your lap to prevent slipping. (The bowl shape has definitely made it slip out of my lap before lol )

I personally like the action / general playability of their celebrities a lot.

The adamas has really nice, deep tones. I'm lucky to have one sitting next to my desk at work so I get to annoy my coworkers with it :D
