That's not the word I'd use.

Just kidding you east coasters!
Is it just me or is an SUV Hybrid kinda like Jumbo Shrimp and Military Intelligence?

Hmm... Currently drive a Honda Insight and I got to say, with gas prices where they are now, I'm sure glad I purchased an hybrid! Can't beat 70MPG (avg 64 city/hwy for me)! The Escape Hybrid uses the same electric/ICE setup as Toyota's '04 Prius with a little of Ford's own modifications if I recall correctly.

Did you guys read Fast Food Nation? The fact that most of the flavors you taste when you eat fast food come from a synthesizing plant off the NY turnpike seemed so appropriate.

Anyhow, I drive an Insight now (between 65 and 70mpg) and I like it just fine, but honestly I went from a full size Bronco to this and I could use a little more space. The new Prius looks nice but I'd kill for a 4 door truck hybrid for my bikes and boards.

But I am sold on the hybrid, never going back...

Everyone is forgetting diesel. I drive a VW TDI Jetta and love it. 50 mpg on the highway (at 70+ mph) and 40 in town. It has gobs of low end torque to move you very well at any speed. Going up hills with the cruise on, it doesn't slow down. Good passing power. I even tow a trailer with my motorcycle on it. Try any of that with a hybrid.
I'll take my much simpler turbo diesel over a hybrid any day.
Add it the fact that diesel is way cheaper right now and the fact that I could convert to running Boidiesel in my car at any time. Boidiesel is made from cooking oil and can be run in any diesel engine with no loss in power or reliability. It even makes your exhaust smell like french fries.

I signed up to get the hybrid though, nothing wrong with free. I'd sell it and get a Passat TDI.

Thanks, I could use a new car.

I guess the gas companies are making so much money these days with the new high prices that they can afford to give away cars. I am getting a warm fuzzy feeling toward them now.

Probably not BP's decision, there's probably some state law governing contests and drawings in NJ that somehow prevents them from letting NJ residents participate.

Sorry to be off topic, but damn, people in NJ are always getting left out of contests...Glad I don't live there. Heard that car insurance is really high too.

Okay, I'll be the first Marylander to complain. Can't enter from Maryland either!

Nope, it's Ford's own design, it was just too close to Toyota's so they signed a licensing agreement with Toyota to avoid any potential lawsuits.

Thanks for the post!
