win 98se & ram?

i currently have 512 megs of ram,with the price of memory at such low cost,i was thinking to get more.here's the problem,i'm running win98se.i heard win 98 has trouble with more than 512 megs of ram.i have an asus a7pro mobo that can handle 1.5 gigs of ram. can i put more ram or will this cause me a problem? thanx!:confused:

Go read the FAQ. Win98se can handle more RAM than your mobo can. Just do some changes in your vcache.

Win98 cannot allocate RAM over 256MB you need Me or 2000 or XP to do 512 or above otherwise it will go unused

It may work, but I think you're wasting your money. Win98 shows very little improvement going from 128MB to 256MB and virtually no performance gain after that. If you want an OS that can actually use gobs of RAM, then upgrade to Win2k. It's more stable than Win98 anyway.
