I have been having a lot of problems getting games to run good on my system that is running XP Professional. I know that it ran games flawlessly with windows 98se. Is there are reason not to dual boot with Windows 98 se and Windows XP Pro? Are there any disadvantages?

i haven't done it myself, but i have heard it don't give too many probs, and seems to be fine. But i don't have any personal experience with duel booting tbh 🙂

I dualboot Win98 and Win XP home...For apps/games that are not supported in WinXP yet(or if at all), It is nice to have the luxury of bieng able to just boot over to 98 and do what you need. To do the dual boot, you will need to run FDISK from a Win98 boot floppy..Delete all current partitions and then set new Primary Dos partition to what ever size you want for Win98. Not necessary to set a partition for WinXP yet (you will do that during XP install..Format C: bootable (format :c /s) from dos prompt, install Win98. When done installing Win98(not necessary to get all drivers installed at this time), Install XP. XP will set up bootloader for you. Have fun😀
