hey all,

I have 2 questions, 1) how can i make my start menu sroll in rows like in win 95, aposed to how it scrolls straight down in win 98 and you have to scroll down once the screen is full?
2) Is there a way to get your start menu to pop up by left clicking on the desk top? Diamond software for their video cards did this, but i dont have a diamond vid anymore and realy dug that function.

thanx

from here:

START MENU COLUMNS

This tip applies to Windows 98/98 SE(U) and to Windows 95/OSR1/OSR2 ONLY with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4/5 installed, and comes to you courtesy of Elli.
"To switch back to multiple column lists in the START button Menus:

Click Start -> Run -> type Regedit -> click OK.
In the Registry Editor, click the plus signs to expand the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Advanced
Right-click an unoccupied area in the right hand pane -> click New -> String Value.
In the name box that appears, type StartMenuScrollPrograms (all one word) -> press Enter.
Right-click the name you just created -> click Modify -> in the Value Data box type false -> click OK.
Click Registry -> Exit to close the Registry Editor.

It should not be necessary to restart Windows. When you click Start and then Programs, your menu should show multiple columns instead of a single column with scrolling arrows, assuming you have a long Programs list."
