Win 95 "B" & Win 95 "C" question...?

What I am needing to know (searched for this already...?) is can I have an installed version of Win 95 "B" (no USB support) and either update or overlay with a Win 95 "C" version...? I need this for some older PC`s that I am wanting to put PCI to USB adapters in so they can use newer componets... (printers, cameras, scanners... and so on...)

Any help would be really appreciated... 🙂

Thanks...

Bartman: Yes you can. To all intents and purposes, the REAL difference between Win95B and Win95C (apart from having the IE4 install tacked onto the end of the Windows install) is a second update for the USB/AGP subsystem. Win95B simply has the first USB update package that you need to install, Win95C has 2 of them.

You should be able to install both USB/AGP updates from Win95C onto Win95B.

You can find the two USB update packages (usbsupp.exe and usbupd2.exe) for Win95B at this location. Just make sure that whatever USB devices you plan to use with Win95 have the proper drivers for that OS.

Here is a good site with a list of Win95 compatible products:
