Win 8 - wtf is this?

The area I made darker are my normal icons. The light area are weird empty icons (I think related to Win Explorer) that keep popping up. If you click one, all instantly disappear, and then start appearing one by one again. Insanely annoying - how do I fix?

They use up memory under explorer.exe.

When you alt+tab they instantly disappear on the taskbar and don't show up in alt+tab at all even for an instant.

Most likely just a random bug that is going to exist in preview software as complex as an OS. Might want to head over to Technet and ask.

Sounds like a typical bug in beta software.
