Win 7 x64 file deletes slow

Sometime in the last 2 weeks mass file deletes (12k+ files) NOT using the Recycle Bin take hours to run. Using the Bin is somewhat faster but not much.

Drive is 3TB with 2.5TB still available.

Was there some update to NTFS recently?

it is almost like a secure delete is being done i.e. overwrite the space taken by the file.

It was Malwarebytes 3.4.4

I have asked for a solution in their forums.

I fixed the problem by putting a TASKKILL command to terminate the program at the top of the batch file. But it took a second or two to die. The MB forum supplied some insight. The ransom ware checking function appears to have problems. They gave me the name of the driver and I kill that instead. Much faster. They also said they are working on the problem.
