Where the heck are the free games that come with windows 7? It is supposed to have some basic stuff but the games folder is empty. Am I missing something here? The daughter wants to play chess and I don't want her downloading free stuff off the net and infecting the computer. Anyone know of a virus free chess game that does not contain viruses and does not want your life history to download?

I did not post this to the games forum because it was too basic for that.

Go to "Add or Remove Programs", click the "Turn Windows features on or off" and select "Games" if it's unselected.

You might need a Windows install CD or something.

This. Some versions of Windows don't come with the games installed, but the will be available from the Windows Features menu. You shouldn't need the Windows DVD.
