win 7 pro will not install drivers for tablets

I have 2 windows 7 machines, one with pro and latest service pack the other is ultimate.
I have an Ipad and a Nexus 7.
Both of these plugged into the ultimate and installed drivers and work fine.
The pro, I plug in the device and it says installing drivers and fail.
What is wrong with the pro version that it can not install drivers for either device?

How does one do this magical configuration?

You can check Windows Update at any time to see if it found new drivers and icons for your hardware, especially if you recently installed a new device. If you want to have Windows Update automatically check for the latest drivers and icons, here's how:

Open Devices and Printers by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then, on the Start menu, clicking Devices and Printers.

Right-click the name of your computer, and then click Device installation settings.

Click Yes, do this automatically (recommended), and then click Save changes. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If Yes is already selected, click Cancel to close the dialog box.

mine was set to NO so I changed it to auto install.
I plug in the device and it looks and then says can not find drivers for this device.
in devices and printers its there under unspecified devices.
I go to it and hit update driver, search automatically.
It goes on the net and windows could not find driver software for your device.

my other windows 7 that both of the tablets work on is set to NO
but its has install driver software from windows update if it is not found on my computer.
Just like the non working computer was.
still can't find anything either way.

maybe its pro that can't see tablets or something.
ultimate has no problems like this.
