Win 7 Pro hangs during installation. Help!!

Win7 Pro 64 bit hangs during installation soon after the initial automation (mouse pointer freezes).
I have a Asus P6T motherboard, Intel i7 920 CPU, 12 GB RAM, 2 x 500 GB SATA HDD connected to Ports 0 and 1, BFG GTX280 graphics card. Help please!

i would try taking out the memory sticks, and start by putting one in at a time and see how far along the install gets with only one memory module installed at a time. Also after it hangs, go into the bios and check the CPU temperature as well. Could be the system is overheating as well.

Does that board have a 3rd party disk controller, e.g. a JMB363? If so, I'd disable it and see what happens.

Thank you Sonoma1993. I removed three mem sticks and Win7 installed flawlessly. No dirver issues detected in the device manager. However it recognizes only 4 GbB of the 6 GB installed. Any suggestion on how to test and install the remainder memory so that I am up to my full 12 GB?

Disabling the JMB drive would not work as my HDD are installed on Ports 0 and 1 that the driver uses to build a RAID 0 (I presume)
