You are right.I'm actually waiting for the SSD prices to come down a bit,they are prohibitively expensive at my place.Have anybody tried the new velociraptor(i hope i spelled it right) which Anand reviewed few months back?It is comparatively cheaper and i can go for that one.
 
The velociraptor didn't perform all that better than the current batch of large, fast 7200rpm drives. I guess there's a niche for it somewhere, but most users will be better off getting one of the 7200 top-performers (giving good GB/$) and adding an SSD as a boot drive if/when they can afford it.
