Win 7 install issue with some DVI connections?

sportage

Lifer
I slapped together some old parts to make a test pc for messing with Win 7.
All went flawless. I was even dual booting Win-7 32 and Win-7 64.
Later decided to re install W7 on a good pc.
Plus, added a new sata dvd drive, a 1-TB hard drive, tv card, and used dvi conection to the monitor.

Now every time I tried to install Win-7 the install process ran up thru
the "updating registery" part, then the pc re-booted by itself.
When Win7 started again, the msg "windows did not shut down properly"
came up. Then on continue, it loops back while booting to the "did not shut down"
msg.

So I wondered what was the difference now with this install not working?
After W7 installed flawless before???

Was it the new 1-TB drive? Or using a sata dvd drive rather than serial?
Maybe the tv card?

Well it turns out to be the dvi connection. When I went back to VGA, not DVI, to the monitor, the W7 install went flawless, again.

I realized where the install dies is right at the point during install where your monitor
blanks out for a few seconds, as the video is checked-installed.
Using dvi, for some reason, the install died at this part.
Strange?
