Usually when this occurs it means there's either a problem with the source (Windows installer), or the destination (hard drive). I'd start by copying Windows over to a USB drive and trying to install from that. If that doesn't work, then you need to look at your drive situation. The hard drive may be bad, or it may be as simple as moving it to another port.

I did change ram stick.now it completes full four orbs and then stays with full starting windows logo and it stops flashing.

I just can't understand why so much of trouble.
I have absolutely pulled out all things out.
Not even case fan is attached to motherboard.

Motherboard detects all things properly.
But windows just refuses to install.

docp,

So you can progress farther with memory sticks changed? So the Windows 7 Install Disc problem has been ruled out.

Before you try installing windows again run Memtest86 on the machine. Make a bootable CD for Memtest so you can run it without windows.

If memtest result is good, then go get a GWScan and run it. GWScan bootable CD can be obtained via internet. Or use any other hard drive utility programs to do scan for errors. Then perform writing zero's, full scan. If you feel lazy doing this which I understand, remove the other two hard drives and just leave one in there to install windows. Are you running in Raid mode with multiple hard drives?

If the problem still remains check your CPU temperature and do a quick visual inspection of the mommyboard, making sure there are no burnt / swollen capacitors. And reset to factory defaults in the BIOS. Actually, do this rite now.

Thanks mate for such detailed instructions.

I did install new motherboard just yesterday.
Its brand new.
Now about hard disk, all extra disk are out and just one 160 gb seagate is inside.

What all attached is just DVD drive on second port.hard disk on first board.
CPU fan.CPU cooler,power connector that's all.

Absolutely no extra things.
PS 2 mouse and USB keyboard.
CPU temp from BIOS is 27-28.
I am downloading those two test cd' s which you suggested

Ubuntu livedisk also fails to install.or run.after selecting it as boot,it shows all options.I can scroll till run memtest and then it blanks out.

I took photo of system health.do have a look.

If I were you I would try running GWScan and do a scan on the hard drive, making sure there are no errors on the sectors.

Or take the current hard drive out and put the other hard drive on.

Do you have WinXp disc? or any other OS disc? If you have a spare CDROM, that would be a plus, try that. It can be possible your Optical Drive isn't stable reading the data from disc too. Something to consider.

I appreciate your reply.
But unfortunately I am not able to download gwscan.its gateway pages are not giving download links.
I tried chip.de as well but no luck.
Any alternatives to gwscan?
Thanks again.
I really appreciate your help.

Try a more powerful site like this one -- GWScan512 :)

After you burn the disc and run it makre sure to run the follwoing:

- Smart Scan (it maybe named differently, I don't remember)
- Quick Scan

- Extended Scan (this fixes any issues with hard drive integrity)

Run all three, not just one. If it passes all, then your hard drive is healthy.

Okay,
Thanks for posting link.
What does load after disk.sys
I know its stupid question.but still would like to know.
Can this be power supply or processor?
I tested all ram overnight.
It came out clean.
Now will do this scan as well.
This hard disk did scan clean when I checked them in my laptop with full format and scan through HD tune.

I just can't seem to find offending part

Let's be clear. Were you unable to finish installing windows 7?

Or did it finish installing but when the system tries to boot to Windows it hangs there with disk.sys error?

Oh and after the GWScan tests are all good, go ahead and write zero's while you are in GWScan.

I will post gwscan results.
Thanks.

I would be interested to know if you ever fixed this issue?
I too this weekend am experiencing the same issue, 50 times over after 18 hours worth of trying.
I have stripped my PC back to bare minimum.
Reset CMOS.
Disabled a mutlitude of things, one by one and back on again, all to no avail.
The problem I see is :-
Using an Upgrade disk, from XP, choose custom Install, it copies files, reboots, and hangs on windows logo on starting setup.
Using a FULL bootable W7 disk, it boots from the DVD, loads files, and again hangs on starting windows setup logo. Even before you get to any choice of any options, before even get the chance to wipe the HDD, which I would gladly do!
I have booted the setup into Safe mode, and it alwys stops after loading the Disk.SYS driver!

Update, I've removed all but the original 512mb Memory chip that came with my motherboard. Now got past that issue, install gets to next reboot, and then turns monitor off and gets no further. Beginning to think my MSI 6570 k27n keyboard is not compatible with win7?

I'm wondering if this problem was ever solved as I'm seeing the exact same thing too. I've yet to come across any one who's successfully repaired this problem.

1. Starting is Safe Mode always freezes on disk.sys

2. There is no booting past the Windows 7 logo coming together.

3. There was no added hardware or software to the system (completely random)

4. All other test check out fine.

5. Replacing hard drive and memory has no effect

6. Attempted fresh reboot on new hard drive freezes in exact same spot (windows 7 logo)

7. Using different sata cables, connections, power cables, and dvd/usb drives have no effect.

This system has worked flawlessly for 2 years. I have noted a change in the beeping at the start up.

My MSI P67A-GD65 use to Beep Low long, then Beep, Beep high short. It now Beeps Low long, then Beep, Beep, Beep high short, Beep low long. Any idea of the significance?

MSI's website doesn't shed any light as it's not standard error beeps (to my knowledge).
