Got bit by this. You may get a blue screen on bootup, failing with win32k.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON-PAGED_AREA.

System restore to a one-day old restore point didn't fix it.

Causes: KB2982791 and KB2970228.

Solution: boot from CD or other media, go to command prompt, navigate to your Windows\System32 directory, and delete FNTCACHE.DAT.
