Okay I have a Dell Optiplex 755 just the standard machine with an Intel Core Duo E8400 CPU and 4 GB of ram and 1.5TB drive and ATI HD3650. Currently I am running 32 bit Windows 7 32 bit and it works fine. However I do a ton of photoshop and photography items on my computer and wondered if going to 64 bit would be beneficial for me.

Dell has Vista 64bit drivers on their website too so I'm not sure if that would make it easier?

Also do I have to have 64 bit programs like Office 2007 and Adobe CS3? Do I have to have a 64bit processor?

Help? I'm confused over the 64 bit thing.

There are very few reasons to run a 32-bit OS these days.

You can run both 32-bit and 64-bit programs, but a 64-bit offers enhanced security, better utilization of RAM and enhanced performance in some cases.

Office 2007 and Photoshop CS3 are 32-bit but should run fine. I believe CS4 has a 64-bit version, but don't quote me on that.
