WIN 2K upgrade?

Ahoy ahoy. 😀

I have a w2k upgrade version cd, and I also have an old win95 cd w/serial #. My question is, when I build my new system with no O/S, will I have to go through installing 95, or will I merely have to put the 2k disc in, then briefly put in the 95 disc and serial # for verification? Or should I go find a 2K full edition CD?

I have the Win2k upgrade and NT4 OEM full. When I load Win2k on a fresh HD it asks me for a full version of another OS. I pop in NT4, it checks it out then asks for the Win2k disk again. Yours should do the same. Good luck.

I have read that your assumption "or will I merely have to put the 2k disc in, then briefly put in the 95 disc and serial # for verification" is correct.

Have not personally done so, but give it a try.
Also, use W2k to format any partition, as I also learned that its FAT32 is different from the dos FAT32.

Unless you are going to have more than 1 user logging into your W2k, use FAT32. Makes some things a little less complicated.
You can always convert to NTFS later, but not the other way.
