[Win 2K] Stopping two devices from sharing COM Port

I am running 2K but recently decided to add a modem for sending faxes
only. The modem works great. I have always had a Motorola Timeport pager
that I could synchronize with my Outlook address book. This stopped
working when I installed the modem. I noticed the modem and charger base
are sharing the same COM Port but I do not know how to stop this.

My modem is listed as HCF 56K PCI modem and works fine. The pager is
listed as Motorola Deluxe Charger Base under Infrared Devices. I says it
is working fine (devise manager) but it no longer communicates with my
pager. I do not see how to change the COM Port for the Charger Base but
changing the com port for the modem is easy. Problem is where ever I
change the COM port of the modem to the charger base follows to the same
port. How can I force my charger base to its own COM Port?

The easiest way is probably to change the com port that your pager base is plugged into in the bios to something unused.
