The following appears on a Teac CDRW requirements:

"The Adaptec software included in this package will work on systems on which Windows 2000 Professional has been fully installed. It will not work on systems on which Windows 2000 has been installed by earlier versions of Windows (i.e. Windows 95/98). This software will not work with Windows 2000 Server, Advanced Server and Datacenter Server."

Are they talking about updating 95 with 2K. Hopefully a clean install would work? I've always used OEM full edition versions of Windows. I am getting ready to buy Win 2K Pro Upgrade. I'm assuning all this means is that on a new clean install I will have to insert my Win 95 OSR2 disk as proof that I have a previous copy (will the fact that it is OEM make any difference). Am I missing anything here and will the Apaptec work under this install?

You should be able do a full install with the 2k upgrade using your old windows as the proof disk. OEM should not matter. I have not heard of Adaptec not working unless 2K was installed clean but I never liked an upgrade install anyway. I too always installed clean.

If your running EZCD 4.0 you need to update it to 4.2 to get it to run properly in win2k.
