ok I'm dual booting win98 and win2k. I have an asus a7v mobo and had to hook the ata100 hd up to the ata 66 channel to get 2k to load to it... Everything boots fine as long as I am on the ata66 channel but when i put the hd back on the ata100 channel i can't get into win2k. It starts loadin then pops up an error msg about checking disk for virus's (which i did) or uninstalling any new hd's and stuff. It all boots up fine when its connected to the ata66 channel (goes into both os's no probs). Anyone have any ideas how i can get win2k to work on my ata100 controller? Oh yeah i have service pack 1 installed also. Thx

There's a patch somewhere around the 'Net for that. Try asking for it in the general hardware forum.

Go into the BIOS and enable Virus protection. That should take care of the problem. This is a known A7V bug.
Hope that helps.

looks like this was my fault.. I hooked it back up to the ata66 controller and loaded the drivers for the promise ata100 controller and all is workin well... thx for the help
