Win 2k Lockup Problems anyone i beg u to help - ill pay u :(

While browsing or using the pc / playing games for 10 mins, it just locks up, the mouse freezes and there is no errors on the screen like green lines or anything, as if its overheating or summin - its not tho =] 30oC Athlon 800.

Specs - Athlon 800, Abit KT7-RAID , Hercules GeForce 2 64 meg, 384 MB Crucial PC133 CAS 2 , SB Live player 1024, BIOS WWw

Have you installed the Win2000 patch? .Lockups can be caused by many things like IRQ conflicts ,overheating,running CPU out of it normal Spec,PSU,ram etc.

I had this same issue about 2 months ago with a GeForce DDR and an AMD T-Bird 1Ghz CPU. This patch fixed it. I noticed a slight performance hit though after this patch was applied. But that surely beats constant lockups.

Just a shot but do you have fast writes enabled? If you do turn it off. It might help.

What kind of mouse do you have ????

I just figure out the problem on my CUSL2..... very weird

on a microsoft intellieye type of mouse with the LEDs... it constantly locks up but if I put a regular mouse in, no problem at all.. happens to all 3 of my cusl2. First I thought it was memory, cards, I pull all cards, use onboard video and swap all memory sticks... I have about 3gb of pc133 crucial and that wasn't the problem and finally when i swap the mouse, all problem goes away, similar to what you have but if you're not using that ms mouse crap then it's other stuff... good luck


BTW I can do 3dmarks/dnet/etc w/o crashing for days but the second I move the mouse, it locks up..
