It doesn't work? Interesting... is it plug and play/hardware or fully hardware? The hayes ISA hardware/pnp modem worked fine on a computer I built.

I've got a TeleWell v.90 ISA and it doesn't work unless COM2 is disabled in BIOS and
even then it will only work with Rockwell Compatible Internal V.90 drivers that
come with Win2k. No drivers made by the modem manufacturer will work and
that's on their web page too! When I did get my modem to work it performs better
than ever... go figure.

I guess you may need to try something a little different than
the usual modem setup.

Timelord Bateman: Yeah, I read exactly what you put up above on the 3com page just a half an hour ago. Seems like WIn2k reads com2 and keeps looking for an external device connected to it, thus the slow speed. Hence, the only solution is, like u said, go to BIOS and disable the sucker.. thanks, I'll go try it now and post up my results later today!!

Bateman: I still can't get it to work, I tried to disable COM2 port, but by doing that I disabled it COM2 port on the OS too, so i can't use com2. i tired com1, but it gave me a hardware error..

Jeffery: Thanks for the tip, looking at the modem, looks like the OEM place where I bought it from had bad jumper config, so that's why the connection wasn't as smooth as it was on 9x. thanks much!! now i can enjoy win2k almost fully...

now if their was only tv-tuner drivers for ati all in wonder...
