I have 3 PCs, I just did a fresh install of Win2k on the one, the other 2 are running Win98se. I'm using TCP/IP for file/printer/internet sharing. When your using the Win2k box, everything on the network is acessable. But when your using one of the Win98se boxes, you can only share files with the other Win98se box. The Win2k box shows up in the Network Neighborhood on the 98 boxes, but when you double click on it it comes up with a window that asks for a password to access \\KEVIN\IPC$ (KEVIN is the name of the Win2k box.) This is the first time I've used Win2k, so I don't know much about it. I don't think I set up a password for the PC, but if I did, I wouldn't know how to change it or remove it. And what us this IPC$ share thing? I didn't tell it to share that, and even if I did, it seems like when you double click on a computer name in the Network Neighborhood it would list all the shared folders, not ask for a password to access a folder I didn't share. Does anybody know how to get this dumb password off my PC?
