I had the exact same problem when I went to Win2k with my mouseman. If I would hold the thumb button in and click another mouse button, it would interupt the thumb button. This was after several problems so I gave up and went back to 98se. Works fine now.

I tried both the 9.0 and the newest 9.3(?) drivers. Both did it. I did find that even though I had several open IRQ's, win2k insisted on putting my mouse, usb, video card and sound card all on irq 9. That might have been part of the problem too, but I had had enough by that point and wasn't going to mess with it any more. So much for plug and play. Amazing how much better Win98 does it.

Unfortunately, vendors are not supporting win2k as much as win98 yet, thus unless you have the perfect mix of hardware, you are out of luck. I have no problems having Win98 being stable as long as I don't install a bunch of poorly written software on my PC anyway.
