Win 2K and Counter-Strike= No sound:-(

I just installed 2K and everything is OK other than when I installed HL/CS the sound doesnt work. When u install HL initially it plays a WAV of a horn and asks u if you heard it, I did but thats all I heard. Anybody else here run 2K/CS and had problems???

are you using a aureal vortex based sound card and have a mobo that uses the via chipset?

if so, try this.

Anyway, thanks for the Aureal Vortex tip Dakata, I just took out that stupid AV and used the onboard sound of my KT266 and everythings good now. I decided not to fix that crappy soundcard cause it gave me problems before but I was too cheap to buy another😛
