Please could someone answer these questions for me.

1) I have partitioned my drive like this 37gig system/16gig games/2gig ghost image/2 gig spare. I would like to know if i can use to spare 2 gig i have as a swapfile drive? Would you consider this as a good route or do you think 2gig for a swap file is exsesive? How do i use this spare drive as a swap file drive?

2) I have 2 pc's they are conecteted via an xover cable into 3com509 nics. Win2k says they are running at 100meg but occasionally they seem to disconnect from each other and then reconnect. I do have a hub but this is only 10meg. Is there a way to make the 100 connection a bit more stable or would i be better off using the hub. Previous to having win2k on my pc i had winme, when using the hub everything was stable but when i connected with the xover cable to take advantage of 100meg it would cause games to pause for a second or two so i went back to the hub.My other machine still has winme on it.

3) About internet connection sharing. I have right clicked on my dialup and set the connection to be shared, but in order for me to connect my 2 pc's to a game server will i have to do anything else or should it work fine. I have adsl connection.

Usually you'll want 1.5x to 2x the amount of RAM you have. Just put it on the Win2k partition. No need for a swap partition.

Are the cards running in full duplex? Perhaps try forcing them into half duplex.

You need to set the IP of the other machine to 192.168.0.2 or something like that, set the maching w/ the connection to 192.168.0.1, set the other machine's gateway to 192.168.0.1. There's a few more steps involved... Try searching "ICS" "Windows 2000" in Yahoo or something.

Go to Administrative Tools in Conrol Panel and open up the Event Viewer.
Check under System Log for errors reguarding the network. It may tell you why it disconnected, or seemed to.

moving the swap file to the spare 2 gigs won't help any. it only makes a different when you put it on a seperate physical drive rather than partition.
