Win 2000 question for ya

Where in Win2K do I control which programs start whenever I boot into windows? In Win98 I used the system configuration utility in system information, but it's not there in Win2K. I've checked my startup folder and it's empty. Anybody know what to do? Thanks. 🙂

Hehe that was the fastest thank you I have experienced for long 🙂 It was 1 min after I had posted my reply

Nope W2K doesn't have a tool like this. The alternative is to manually edit the registry.

BTW: Do you know where the limit for "Senior Member" is? I guess it's 200 or 250 posts

I thought there was a small tool that allowed you to do that... Are you sure its not present in win2k?

and oh yes. you need 201 to officialy become a senior member.

okay.. I knew there was something..

No need to hack the registry..
Just go to Computer Management-> System Tools-> Software Enviroment-> Startup programs.

It lists all the programs that start..
Its not as nice as msconfig but it does work.

Well the integrated tool have to be ->very<- small. I've never stumpled across it.

And thx for the info 🙂 I'm getting close

I have looked at the Computer Management - system tools - System information - software environment - startup programs.

It only list the programs as far as I can see, it's not possible to edit anything
