Where in Win2K do I control which programs start whenever I boot into windows? In Win98 I used the system configuration utility in system information, but it's not there in Win2K. I've checked my startup folder and it's empty. Anybody know what to do? Thanks. :)

There is a little freeware tool called Startup Control Panel it gives you control on what you would like to start. Here is the link Mlin.net

Hehe that was the fastest thank you I have experienced for long :) It was 1 min after I had posted my reply

Nope W2K doesn't have a tool like this. The alternative is to manually edit the registry.

BTW: Do you know where the limit for "Senior Member" is? I guess it's 200 or 250 posts

okay.. I knew there was something..

No need to hack the registry..
Just go to Computer Management-> System Tools-> Software Enviroment-> Startup programs.

It lists all the programs that start..
Its not as nice as msconfig but it does work.

I have looked at the Computer Management - system tools - System information - software environment - startup programs.

It only list the programs as far as I can see, it's not possible to edit anything
