Win 2000 profressional network problem

Hi, I have a peer to peer home network (pent II 450 and Cyrix M2 PR300) previously worked flawlessly with win98SE, just installed win 2000 prof and am having problems. Both have only TCP/IP installed, the machines see each other, and I can start to transfer files, then the machines freeze and loose the network connection after about 1-4mb of transfer! I had one machine on win 2000 and one on win 98se and this worked fine. There are no interrupt conflicts. Anyone have any bright ideas??? The Cyrix machine does only have 32mb ram (soon to have another 32) could this be partially responsible??

Just my 2cents. I have Win2K on my ICS server. A P166 and 32 megs ram and it runs great. I transfer files all the time no problem.

Server would be a one-use computer, minimal install, no multitasking, etc. Needed networking services would get loaded into memory, with no need to later get swapped out.
