WIN 2000 problem ***need help desperately***

Hi, I am having problem with my Win 2000. It's always restarting by itself before it even goes to the first page. I mean the desktop page. I don't now what's wrong. After the white screen that has the Win 2000 Prof. logo, it goes back to the black screen where the first time the computer starts. I've tried to repair it but I don't have any luck. I am using Win 2000 Proffesional. Does anybody can help me? I really need help here. Thanks in advance for the help. I really appreciate it.

might it be some program that is being run on starup? perhaps disabling all startup progs might solve your prob.

How do I do that? I am new win win 2k so I don't know how. please teach me how to do that. Thanks

Have you had it boot all the way before, or has it done this the whole time? If you had a good configuration before, go into safe mode (press F8) and choose the option to restore it to the last known good configuration. If it has done it the whole time, either re-install it, or boot from the CD, and try to run the emergency repair option.

I did the whole things already and didn't find any luck. I just reinstall the whole thing. Lucky me I have everything backed up in my win 98. Thanks for all the help.
