I know it is all hooked up right because when i can still print in win 98 but when i boot to 2000 it doesn't.. The printer is a Hewlet Packard deskjet 812c.. Any ideas..... plz help me... thx

Start>Settings>Printers
Is it listed? Can you do a test page? Have you gone through the printer troubleshooter?

Nope can't do a test page either.... gonna have to reboot so i can go into 2k and tell ya the error.. It acts as tho it is goin to print.. ie ... opens dialog box print icon goes to taskbar and shows it as printing but it does nothing. ok it just says There was an error found when printing the document "test page" to lpt1:. Do you want to retry or cancel this job.... and it takes like 2 minutes before it gives this error.

Ok got it working. Had to install my scanner first since it runs off the ltp port and printer just plugs into the scanner. sounds simple enough but problem was in win 98 it didn't matter if the scanner was installed or not it would still let the information pass through it so it could print.
