win 2000 password

[Bleep]

I have a win 2k machine that I was putting on a wireless network and when I rebooted up popped a sign in box with the user box saying administrtor and I had not passworded anything on this machine, now I cannot acess the hard drive, anyone got a fix for this?
I have tried everything I know but have had no luck.
Pretty bad when some kid hacker in china can hack into my machine and I cannot

Bleep,

I assume you've just tried using Enter as your password? Sometimes when a password is requested (even when you don't realize it) and you don't assign one, you can just hit Enter to get in...

Sorry to hear you got in this bind. I hope you can find a solution besides a clean install...

Thanks for the reply. Yep I tried that, I have almost everything backed up but not my bookmarks and mail.
It is not critical but just a pain, probably just install another hard drive and save the corrupted one and maybe at a later date give it another shot'

Holy smoke, a bunch to decide on. I did a search and did not find anything like this. I cannot remember the search terms I used but I must have used the wrong words.
Everything I found was in the several hundred dollar range.

There are a couple of freeware programs that will blank out the Administrator password on Windows 2000 and XP computers. Do a quick search and you'll find them. This is the one I use.
