Win 2000 or XP Better For Gaming?

Im a gaming kid and i was wondering what would be better for counter-strike and so on

so would XP or 2000 would be better?

I used to run Windows 2000 and I installed XP to check it out. Both have compatibility modes, but XP's actually did something to help with games. I am going to try an old game just to check it out now, but XP is what I would recommend. Frame rates are about the same for me.

Frame rates on a Gf3 seem a little better on XP than 2k. Other than that, i just love the quicker boot up times. Since you said you were a gamer, i doubt you leave your system on 24/7.

you should definitely use xp.. nfs4 and 5 are working without the need of any patches/fixes.. and i get higher 3dmark2ka score in xp..

I have a Radeon and I'm running Counter-strike and Starcraft (hopefully more) on my XP system. Both have been better than Win2000, where I was getting some crashes and stuff. I've read in PCMagazine that XP is built with an WinME approach to gaming with a Win2000 core...so that means stable system allowing you to enjoy more games than 2000. Hope this helps.
