Win 2000 IE 5.0 Freeze surfing sites with Flash apps

K7M with 4in1.25 installed AGP and IDE drivers
Classic Athlon 700 no O/C
Diamond Viper II with Detonator 3 drivers
SB Live with latest drivers
256 mb SDRAM
Win2000 w/SP1
IE 5.0
(edit)Directx 7.0

When surfing to sites with Macromedia Flash apps, (ie. www.macromedia.com or www.nickjr.com) IE will freeze. All other apps continue to run flawlessly. The freeze is not corrected by running User, Power User or Admin login.

I've been to Macromedia - they have no tech notes on the freeze. Neither, unfortunately, does MS or VIA. Anyone felt the same sort of pain and, more importantly, anyone know of a fix?

upgrade to 5.5 you should see a lot of things work better.. also you may want to make sure you have the newest flash plugin.

Thanks guys. I've upgraded to IE 5.01 SP2 and, unfortunately, I've had no success correcting the problem. You mention that I should check my flash install. Would you pardon my ignorance and direct me as to how I would do that?

Thanks!

goto shockwave.com and see if it prompts you for an upgrade...you might also want to uninstall it and reinstall the plugin that might help as well.

good luck
