I have installed the updated HP software drivers from HP for the Scanjet 5200C.I then shutdown the system, connected the Serial cable and turned on the scanner and rebooted.
My problem is that the computer will not reboot, it goes through the motions all the way to a blue screen then shuts down and reboots and continues to reboot indefinetly.
I have also set the Printer Port to "Use any interrupt assigned to the port"
After loading the software I noticed in Device Manager that SCSI/RAID Host Controller developed a yellow exclamation mark.
Any ideas on getting my system up and running would be much appreciated.
Thank You

Did you follow the compatibility issues instructions for this scanner at the HP site for Win2K?

HP

I would also recheck all connections and insure you are using the correct type Paralell cable to the Paralell port. It would appear what ever software you installed thinks that this is a SCSI scanner and you got an error indicating the SCSI card is not present. The above instructions indicated you need updated software ordered from HP or patch your current software, with the scanner installed and plugged in. Read that page and see if that can help.. :) You may need to go into safe mode and remove the drivers you installed or at least the device to get it to reboot, or at least disconnect the scanner

I spoke with HP about this and they informed me that I needed new drivers and would send me a new driver CD.
This is what I have been using and so no need for the patch as these new drivers are specifically for Win 2000.
I am using the original Serial cable so should be no problem there.
