WIN 2000 automatic shutoff/power-off

How do you get Windows2000 Pro to auto shutoff after you've selected the shutdown option in START MENU? I hate pressing the button for 5 seconds. Is there anyway I can get the automatic shutoff like in WIN98 or WIN ME? LMK

Actually what he ment by"Enable ACPI" Was go into BIOS setup under power management and Enable ACPI. It is disabled by defualt.

Not sure if it works myself. Think I'll try it right now.

And the answer is.. No i doesn't work. I do have a solution tho..
Leave it on. It's better on the components anyway. Hard booting like that ,, you should be ashaimed of yourself.. ;P

it does work...

enable ACPI in the Bios and enable ACPI in Win2k... there are caveats in doing this on an existing install, so search around MS' web site or on the internet for info on enabling ACPI on an existing Win2k install

the following is a MS Q article
How to Upgrade Windows 2000 to Use an ACPI HAL [Q246236]
