Take MSN IM for example or IE. When the page finishes loading in IE or when someone replies in your chat session (consider that these two are minimized), the window starts blinking in the task manager at the bottom. Is there any way to turn that damn thing off?

edit I am guessing this happens with Win ME as well.

It happens in all Windows OS's. It's merely to show that the app has been "updated" or a task has been completed in the app or something of the like. No way to disable it.

I rather like it myself.

Very convenient, I like it also because if you open a lot of pages up and you want to check out what pages you havent seen yet, you can use that blinking thing to tell you what pages you havent seen yet, really helpful for pr0n... not that I use it in that way :)
