Question Win 11 update and CPU temp

New Win 11 machine with water pump that shows CPU temp. Under normal use temp is 30-31 degrees.

Fired up PC yesterday to get updates. Did not bother to turn on monitor. Walked past PC after some time and the CPU temp showed 49. Turned on monitor and the Restart now panel was displayed.

What is the CPU doing while it is waiting for a Restart response?

Sat at my computer a bit ago and it was at 50C. Task manager showed the Windows search indexing service was running. MS doesn't care about our power usage LOL!

I should mention that after restart temp went back to 30.

Next time this happens I will check Task Manager before doing anything.
