Win 10 reverts file associations and makes IE default

MS makes IE or whatever the name is default browser AGAIN

Win 10 defaulted all of my file associations for video/photo and music to open with their MS programs.

One has to go to stupid default apps screen and revert back single extension by single extension.

Nice try MS. There is already public bitching about it.

Sounds like another Bazillion dollar EU lawsuit coming 😀

It's an understandable default to minimize issues but an option could have been provided. Media proggies generally include their own easy file association options. Surely it was not done manually/individually originally? And yes, I will call you Shirley.

From what some people have said here, IE11 and Edge are both included in Windows 10, so using both names interchangeably might be confusing. idk ?

It was all right there during the install, I could set the default programs for audio and video as well as tick off the box to make edge the default. When my system upgraded all my defaults were the same as Windows 8.1 including firefox opening web pages. You just had to click the option to customize certain features if I remember. I know for sure it asked me if I want their apps to handle my audio and video files which I said no because I sync to itunes with my iPhone.

IMHO edge sucks so I removed it from the task bar and restored ie11 as the default browser.

I don't use either. I never liked IE and edge isn't fully featured enough for me. I like having Adblock, scroll options etc. I always ask my family why they use IE lol

I use IE and FF because I like them and both work with my class shells at the university. Only ff will work with the pearson myitlab plugin so I absolutely must have it installed otherwise I use IE when labs aren't involved.
