You've never seen what Microsoft would do to a bootleg/modified/illegitimate install of Win10 either. This may be the expected behavior that Microsoft forces upon a modified install to "protect" the user from a pirated or hacked version in order to disable it from doing bad things (like, say, collecting personal user data and sending to some far away land for them to use your credit cards on vodka and cigarettes).

Anyway, it's probably moot at this point, but per MSDN:

If the hash don't match, it's not legit. (There's a few other legit versions, but that's really the only enterprise version that matters)

Yep. Though it's also possible something simply went wrong when he made the bootable USB. I've had a few of those not work right over the years, causing system errors on installs performed with the media. Usually formatting the USB and recreating the install media clears it up, or just using a DVD.

Though it's kind of a moot point, it's been determined that the media he used is fundamentally untrustworthy and he's going to roll back and reinstall through proper means with a valid Win 10 upgrade license. Though with how confrontational and downright rude he's been to everyone trying to help, i'm not sure why people are still trying.

I will be rude to those who deserve the rudeness, stop flattering yourself. I have never been rude to anyone who actually tried to help me, (in fact I try to be one of the most appreciative person when possible!) why on earth would anyone be? Just don't try to be a smartarse, that's disgusting. And kindly teach yourself the proper meaning of 'everyone'.

In any case, I have installed the Win 10 Pro version yesterday, it was activated from MS, because of Windows 7 obviously, but anyway, the ERROR is STILL THERE. So before making any more nonsenses assumption save your time.

Sounds like Windows 10 needs to work on making better error messages. 5 pages and the problem/solution is still unknown, from what I can tell.

Yes, I know mate. I have been running all the hard disk benchmark software I know of, and I actually would like to see at least one of them giving me an error! Cause this sfc /scannow is the only thing which is ending with an error, nothing else! Anyway, I am learning to live with it now.

In any case, does anyone know how to have the wanted updates first? I mean when I first installed Ten I remember it downloaded the Realtek media audio drivers within half an hour or so, but now I am continuously checking for updates, and it is getting all sorts of updates but that one!

If you're having disk corruption issues then I highly suggest the following (since you've already gone through the process of actually checking the disk):

- Recheck the disk via a bootable media (recovery disk such a Hiren's Boot CD - can be made into a USB stick)
- Recheck the disk using the drive manufacturer's diagnostic tool, if available
- Ensure that the correct drivers are installed for the disk controller
- Ensure the BIOS is set to AHCI mode and the proper settings are set (presuming you're not running RAID)
- Swap and make sure the SATA cables are seated at both ends properly

I can't stress the last one enough. I had a drive that was intermittently getting corrupted and/or dropping off the bus after a while. Sometimes it would be fine for days, sometimes I couldn't even boot the machine. I thought the drive was dying a slow and painful death. After dealing with it for months and running diagnostics on the drive that would come back clean I had swapped drive bays after moving stuff around in my machine. All of a sudden the other drive in my machine started acting up. It dawned on me what happened, and I pulled all the cables and replaced them (the cables migrates about 3 builds with the drives) and I haven't had a problem since.

Might want to look into it. Sometimes it's the simplest things.
