Billy Boy got his butt handed to him last night. I love it when these Hollywood types think they can match wits with Bill. The first subject was about freedom of speech and the right to speak out against the war. The Baldwin boy was so entralled with what could happen with free speech among people who spoke out against the war he couldn't even come up with one example where free speech was was limited. LOL

Then he made the HUGE mistake of going up against Bill on the subject of the charity issue. Bill had to explain to the Ignorant Baldwin brother that he waited a full month before coming down on the charities and did so when they had barely contacted anyone from the huge name database that had been collected. :D

Here is the transcript.

hehe I love it when hollywood types think they can debate :D

Tonight should be even better!! The King of Liberal Causes is going to be on tonight, Michael Moore! LOL

Maybe he will have Rosie O'Donnel on to talk about gun control. She is an expert on the subject, you know.

I'll preface this with my general feeling: I'm not an O'Reilly fan.

Didn't see the show and I read the transcript. It doesn't appear that Billy boy "got his butt handed to him last night". Match wits? More like match volumes. ;)

Ah...Billy Baldwin. The intellectual powerhouse who's best known for pretending to bang Sharon Stone in Sliver...sounds like great TV casting by Fox to me. Are they promoting his new movie? :p

This does not exactly seem like the Clash of the Intellectual Titans, since none of the Baldwins (with the possible exception of Alex) are known to be great minds. Michael Moore is at least really smart, so there may be a bit more room for an intelligent debate.

But isn't Alex the one that said that he was moving to Canada if Bush was elected?? :)

Anyway, I like Alex...The Hunt for Red October is one of my favorite movies of all time. I could care less about his political affiliation as it has nothing to do with his work.

I believe his then-wife Kim Basinger said (obviously with tongue in cheek) that Alex would leave the country if GWB were elected, and he clearly refuted it after GWB won. Maybe the election is what killed their marriage!

Are we reading the same transcript here? Cause on the one I'm reading, Baldwin hands O'Reilly his ass on a platter.

I was just thinking the exact same thing. Perhaps seeing it in person, there might have been a different connotation. But the transcript doesn't seem to indicate that "Billy Boy got his butt handed to him last night."

Then again, Texmaster has never let the truth get in the way of advancing the conservative cause.

There's nothing like a person that rants about how stupid people are and then invites these very people to his show to have a debate with them. Hello, McFly!? If they're so stupid you should be able to walk all over them. This is like the U.S. basketball team bragging about a victory over China. Give me a break. All I've ever heard and seen of Bill O'Reilly is him inviting dumb people on his show and walking all over them. When they can actually put forth an intelligible debate, he doesn't let them talk.

They both had good points. In fact I was impressed that Baldwin did as well as he did (not that I expected much from him) I think O'Reilly was right about the funds not being distributed fast enough or that there was too much bureaucracy siphoning off the funds but that was an existing problem before the Fund Raiser. I think O?Rielly used his podium well to put pressure on those who were distributing the relief funds but I also feel he was off base for criticizing those celebrities who participated in raising the money. They (Clooney and the rest) aren't perfect and may be egocentric, but at least they did try to help. I think both O?Rielly and Clooney acted petty by making it so personal and I really think O?Rielly was being bush by using his show as a platform to try to discredit Clooney and the others who did as much in not more than he did to help the victims. I guess that makes O'Rielly just another Big Headed Celebrity who knows how to generate publicity for his show.

You mean Alec???

He's a good actor, I'll give him that... but have you ever listened to his political rants? The guy is at least one beer short of a sixpack. He's such a boob, he even had to shut down his website's guestbook area because it was flooded with comments on his absolutely absurd political views. Including his now broken vow to leave the US were Bush to be elected. It reminds me of when Rosie had to hire Nazis to throw anyone out of her chats and message boards who made the slightest mention of her insane comments on gun control.

I read and was thinking along those lines...looked more like a draw to me, with maybe Baldwin getting a split decision.

I guess Tex has to put his SPIN on everthing as he normally does.

I don't think actors should use their celebrity, as a pulpit to speak their political views, be it Liberal or Conservative. Most of the time, they come across as parodies of themselves like Chucky Heston did when he read the lyrics to Cop Killer using his best Moses Voice to a congressional subcommittee. In fact the local Radio Station sampled it and made a record of his reading that was hilarious and one of the most requested bits on that station

LOL Oh ye of little brain power.

Must I spell out everything for you? :)

O'Reilly is anti SUV, against the death penalty, and his favorite politician of all time is jack kennedy. LOL yup sure sounds like a conservative to me! :D

Now I will have to explain why Oreilly flattened Baldwin.

First on his opening arguement about the limitiation of free speech, Baldwin couldn't point to a single example of free speech being limited when challenged. The onyl thing he could come up with was the "possiblity" There's also a possbility that we will all be late for work tomorow but I wouldn't count on it :)

Then Billy boy tried to trap O'Reilly in a political debate brigning up Enron. O'Reilly shot that down immedatly calling it criminal, Baldwin never brought it up again :)

Then Baldwin brings up the Charities. His first whine is about the amount of time Bill gave the Charities. He first claimed it was 2 weeks then O'Reilly had to correct him, it was one month.

Then O'Reilly explained how many different people had not received ANYTHING not even a phone call and called his show to tell him about it.

Thats when O'Reilly went on the offensive. Baldwin didn't have an answer for that.

The O'Reilly went on to list the actors and actresses that stepped up. Again, Baldwin had no answer.

Instead, he goes back to the predictable pattern of concentrating on the month span O'Reilly gave the Charities.

Then Baldwin cuts in and bursting with pride says how much money had been destributed by January. LOL HELLO? Thats Well After O'Reill went on the air and held them accountable.

Baldwin once again fails to grasp that.

Then O'Reilly had to correct Bladwin once again and explain the money he quoted had gone to Sub Charities not to the actual victims families yet.

Baldwin goes back to the time again and Bill points out that these charities are supposed to be able to handle this. They are paid in some cases 6 figures to handle this. A month's delay for evena phone call is unaccptable especially when a list of the victims is Available.

Then Baldwin gives Bill a hypothetical about himself giving his time to help raise money and asked after a month what he would do. And Bill slammed his butt saying he would be ON THE AIR explaining what was going on. Once again, Bladwin has no response.

Then Baldwin goes into his VAST amout of experience in Charity work *snicker* and goes back to the timeframe ONCE AGAIN sayign the charities didn't have enough time. Which of course O'REilly correctly pointed out that they should have at the very LEAST come on and say its taking longer than they thought which of course they never did.

After that O'reilly hands Baldwin his head once again and points out the 350 MILLION MORE dollars that were donated to the families AFTER O'Reilly broke the story.

After that Baldwin just gets desperate saying Bill did it for the ratings. LOL What a losser.

Then Baldwin once again tried to bring up the dollar figure he claimed was distributed only to have Bill correct him once again that it had only gone out to the sub charities, not to the people and O'reilly had to bring up his most recent guest that said he was given a "cap" by the united way who limited the amout to 20,00 when they had collected over 100 million dollars.

Baldwin had a hard time with this and of course, no direct response :)

Bottom Line O'Reilly:

Broke the Charity story

Put people on the air who had not recieved even a telephone call from Red Cross or United Way

Broke the Story on the Sub Charities all getting their piece of the victim's money by funnelling it through sub charities.

Demanded Action which the United Way and Red Cross FINALLY resulting in 350 MILLION more dollars being distributed to the actual families

Baldwin looked like a fool and only a fool would believe Baldwin won that debate :)
