Thankfully the culture at my company is very different for NYC. We all leave at around 5-6. And it's a 'great deal' if you stay til 7. GF is jealous because she comes home at 9pm everyday (still not home as I type).

I guess I lucked out. When I moved to NYC, everyone warned about the excessive work culture. I somehow dodged that twice (this and prev job).

Cool, that sounds like it is going to work out great for you. Remember -- work/life balance. Don't work yourself to death and don't sacrifice too much for your job. I got lucky that my current company is so laid back and to some extent, it may have instilled some degree of complacency in me.
