if they fix multiplayer i wont.

I agree. I've ended it already. I started playing it again on NM but can't bring myself to play through it again...just not "fun" enough.

I think im near the end (alpha labs 2?) and im supposed to find like, a fusion block or something. It's gotten fscking OLD. No joke, talk about

"find this, to turn on this, to open this door."

"okay, find this to turn on this to open door"

for 12 hours.

Also WTF is the deal with ALL these monsters hiding behind HIDDEN doors that KNOW when you pick up health/ammo to jump at you?

fsking bullsh!t disappointment

Boy that's sad, all these people who wasted $55 on doom 3 and only playing it for like 2 days.

Got to feel sorry for all the people who spent big bucks upgrading their hardware to play DOOM 3, then got bored of it after a week of repetitive gameplay.

Aren't all FPS just repetitive play? Most games for that matter?

I stopped playing far cry to play doom 3; but far cry wasn't repetitive... or at least; not nearly as much as d3

I also didn't spend "big bucks"... but I did upgrade to play d3.

i only played the original doom on my boss' comp at work way back when. never played doom 2 or any quake, half-life, or anything since ive only began gaming on my pc in the last couple of years with RTCW, MOH:AA, CoD, Black and White, and Far Cry. my point here is im not jaded when it comes to fpss since ive only played a few (other than demos).

i think D3 is an awesome game. its kinda like a haunted house. you know whats coming but its fun to let go and let it scare you. turn out the lights and put some good 5.1 headphones on, and its pretty intense. i find it a great balance between "tension" fear and the "BOO" factor. kinda like a blend of resident evil and silent hill. resident evil only startled me with things jumping out at me. silent hill just creeped me out, and i was nervous the whole time (i can still feel the thud from the ps controller of the characters heart when my health was low, wandering around in the school in the pitch black, having nothing but the pipe to beat the little demon babies, shudder) . D3 puts those two experiences together with great balance, IMO.

will i be playing D3 when hl2 comes out? no, because i will have finished by then, and ive never played a game twice. no point in it to me. havent tried multi yet, so i cant comment on that. probably no tho, because i prefer the military shooters with objectives.

ive upgraded my because of D3, but not specifically for it. i want to be prepared for hl2, stalker, and the other upcoming games and subsequent mods.

That's the point. They make it again with good multiplayer and call it quake 4. Double profits.

Raven is making Quake 4 (soldier of fortune guys), and always been buddies of id software.

You know, Doom 3 makes me think of System Shock 2 and Undying mixed together.

I have a feeling HL2 is going be a let down. Plus Doom 3 came out first which means mods will be going for doom 3 already, so HL2 might not be the game to get modded.

As far as mods, I rather have them on doom 3, I think it has a better engine. (Not so sure about the multiplayer code though)

HL2 already has a ton of mods in the works. Like, a lot.

The thing that annoys me the most about Doom3 is when you clean out a room, then pick up some ammo or something, a monster will spawn in the ROOM YOU JUST CLEANED OUT.

I don't mind them hiding behind doors, etc, but if I just went through an area and KNOW it's safe, it should be, well, safe!
