Will you buy an "XBox 360-S" to replace your current model?

Will you buy the new XBox 360-S to replace your current 360?

  • Yes, definitely.

  • No, definitely not.

  • I don't have a 360 currently, but will buy the 360-S.

  • I don't have a 360 currently, and have no intention of buying a 360-S.

I know a lot of people are jumping on the new $100 deals popping up as retailers try to clear out old stock to make room for the new 360 model. I'm wondering how many people are intending to pick up the new model to replace their existing model.

You should add another option to the effect of:

"When the price drops a bit."

I'm not paying $299 for one, but if it goes down some I certainly might.

Looks nice but I really don't see the point in me doing this. I'd probably get nothing but hassle and annoyance by trying to sell my current 360... so... nope.

Ehh, I'm not really thinking about the 'down the line' mentality, more interested in the Day One folks who will jump on the new shiny, black box. :)

No, but maybe if my current one breaks. Of course I have a PS3 now, so if it DOES break in a non RROD way I'll probably just be exclusively PS3 from then on out.

I see no reason to replace my existing 360s. Every room in my house with a TV except my bedroom has Ethernet, and I haven't come close to filling up my hard drives. If my 60 GB dies, I'll take it back to Costco and get whatever they have at the time. If my Arcade dies I'll send it back to MS.

Mine is running strong. If it breaks I might buy a slim but otherwise I have no intention of doing so.

Definitely not. I'm still within the 3-year RROD warranty; if it dies for another reason or after the warranty expires, I'd probably still rather pick up a cheap used one than pay for a brand new one.

Also, my brother is thinking of getting one, and he's planning on taking advantage of a deal on old ones.

Only if my current 360 dies.. given that its one of the earlier generations and out of warranty, it could be anytime now.

$299 is a great price for a 360 with a 250GB hard drive. Perhaps you're looking for one with less storage at a lower price point? I don't see the 250GB version dropping price any time soon. They've already got Sony beat with that price, and it's just a great deal to begin with.

I'm not really in the market for a new console right now. My PS3 would be collecting dust if it wasn't such a great media player. There aren't really enough good console games ATM to make me want to purchase a 360. I think I'll live with the games they give me on PC.

I'm actually thinking of doing it.

I was thinking about picking up the 250G HD as I've got an older one with just the 20G HD. With the trade in deal at gamestop I read about over on SD I could get the new xbox for around $30 more than just buying the HD.

No. I've got a 360 already. It's a Falcon and it did RRoD once, but it's been working fine since it was repaired. I just wouldn't be able to justify the cost unless this one takes another dump. If that were to happen I'd consider it, but I'm fine with what I've got for now.

They're all Jasper now, so that's not an issue

Cool. I bought one of the Pro closeouts late last summer/early Fall to use as a second gaming unit and media extender and was shocked to see it was still a Falcon. I'll have to think about this deal.

I put my current Falcon Elite for sale with WiFi and a few games :) Waiting for someone to bite. I'll be getting the new one then (arrives mid-July in EU).

I was going to buy a used 360, but now I'm just getting one of these new ones.

Maybe if I get RROD #4 I will get the new one. Or I will just give up on the 360

Oh wow.. just looked at the Gamestop trade-in deal.. not bad. $100 for the console, $40 for the wifi adapter, $30 for the 20GB I have, and $25 for the controller..? Unless they count the console as with the HD too.
