I doubt they'll have only purple GC's at launch in the US. I could be wrong though.

Anyway, for me it's a moot point because I don't even live in the US :D

I'll buy a GC, BTW. I need my Zelda! :p

Who really cares about color? Put a paper bag over if it is so hard on your eyes.

I would if I had the $, but tuition, gas and social (i.e. gf) costs are too high.

The other thing is, I'm no longer an avid gamer as I was up to age 13 (grade 8). Before that, I used to play the NES and Super NES obsessively. I was a master of Mario Kart and Street Fighter II (two of the best games ever created, imo).

Now times have moved on.

However, I still have much nostalgia for Nintendo and am very loyal to them. I can't wait to be able to play Shigeru Miyamoto's new Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Waverace or Mario Kart.

I don't think any real, veteran gamer can resist the Nintendo charm for superlative game mechanics and innovation.

I agree, I was hooked on Mario 64 even before it came out...funny story:

I played, and beat the whole game in 7 hours in at a little booth in Toys'R'Us...seriously, I didn't not eat, drink, or pee for 7 friggin hours!!!! Stupid little kids lined up behind me :) I was like, go away, I'm not dead yet!

I ended up buying the game and beat it with all the stars...Nintendo is always an inovator...basically every 3D platformer after Mario 64 is a spawn of Mario 64...

So true, NJ Artist.

From the analog controls, the 3D platform, to the idea of the Rumble Pak, Nintendo is and always has been the pioneer. Mario 64 was a classic example of a Nintendo product serving as the archetypal creation that all others would follow.

Man, you played the entire Mario 64 at Toys R Us? Now I realize that the game was a breakthrough in itself, but come on, how can you fully enjoy the genious and fun of the game in a store booth? You need to be at home, with a big screen TV, watching good ole Mario running around, jumping on goombas.:)
