I will be glad when 2009 is over. The last two years have been the worst ever for me in all aspects - financially, physically, etc. Thanks to the 40 miligrams a day of corticosteriods I was on since August, I am now in the best physical shape ever. Daily exercise and lots of prayer has done wonders. Everything else is still the same however, but I havent given up yet.

Hopefully the 2010s will be better because all-in-all Id rather like forget about the entire decade.

It's finally over... worthless f'ing year.

Finished grad school this time last year, spent 11 months looking for a job. Now I know how Japan felt the last 20 years...

2009 is so yesterday.

WRT last year, it was a tough year for me, but satisfying and successful. I'm always keen to ring in a new year, I think it's a good opportunity to set new goals and self-expectations, but I don't lament 2009.

I have talked to so many people that have been bit on the backside by the bad economy its not even funny. Sure bitching about things doesnt make it better, but man 2009 was crumby! D:

I'm not going to bother listing the bad stuff that happened this year, but heck yeah. 2010 has to be better.

Happy better new year to my fellow sufferers.

So true, though the second half wasn't too bad for me. Last couple of weeks have been a PITA though.

I don't like wishing my life away. But I always look forward to the new year. I plan on giving a lecture at a University this year. That's exciting.

That's kinda nonsensical. I'm glad the bad things are behind me and I hope there are good things ahead of me, but that would be true regardless of what year it is.

That does sound like fun. Are you worried about getting cold feet? Even a little?

Am I the only one that had a decent 2009?

- did better than expected in school
- was able to work on an awesome project for the City of Philadelphia / PPA
- got (and still getting) a good amount of freelance work
- started going to the gym and noticed a fairly substantial improvement in my physical fitness
- stayed relatively healthy and injury-free

2009 is going to be a tough year to beat, but I'm hoping that '10 will have me improving myself even more and hopefully meeting someone special.

If someone told me last year where I'd be right now, I would have had a hard time believing it. 2009 was pretty good overall, looking forward to 2010.

First half and part of the 2nd half went well enough. I graduated and received my BS in CS with honors (the comprehensive exam, undergraduate thesis and senior project were all adequate (the last things standing in my way)). The US Army granted me a summer internship in R&D at one of their bases. Finally, I received a full research assistantship at a good university for my masters.

It went downhill quick once graduate school started and a series of unfortunate events and mistakes on my part caused the latter half to be rather miserable. But, I did manage to salvage it towards the end and ended up with good grades and I met the deadlines with the research project... just in time for a two week vacation from the lab.

So, I say good riddance!

Im glad to hear you had a great 2009! 2005 through mid 2007 was pretty good for me. But it all went down hill from there. ;)

2009 was an awesome year for me :)

2010 will be better, but only if I can accomplish my new year's resolution of having more sex :p

By far, 2009 has been the most stressful, frustrating year of my life due to all sorts of work-related reasons.
