Will XP2200+ work on ECS K7S5A

Will and XP2200+ work with an ECS K7S5A. I checked ECS' website and is just states that it is compatible with XP. Didn't see anything stating which models. I just got an Asus A7V333 and it is turning to crap really quick. Figured if I sent the Mobo and RAM back for refund I could pop the XP2200+ in the ECS.

Thanks

Anyone know. I am about to return my A7V333 and RAM because it will not stabilize at all and I need to know whether to return the CPU too. Hate to send back the CPU if I can atleast use that.

Thanks

The second-to-last BIOS revision supports Thoroughbred CPUs. There could be a multiplier issue due to the 13.5x multiplier of the XP, but the worst that'll happen is the board won't POST... it shouldn't do any harm to try it. 🙂

yes you can...
depends on the revision of the k7s5a you might haveto update your BIOS
mine worked fine with XP 2000+

ECS say K7AMA and K7S5A (aka M817, M830) run Thoroughbred CPUs just fine. Have the latest BIOS in before you swap CPUs, and make sure your power supply unit can feed the beast.

regards, Peter
