Will XFX take the card if you used a third party cooler?

The warrantee info doesn't say. maybe as long as the original one is on when u send it back?

I don't think they'll notice. As for me...I can't seem to get my Silencer NV5R3 off my XFX 6800GS....

Depending on what failed, they might not care that you changed it. Since it's designed in such a way that it IS user-changeable, there's a reasonable expectation that it's okay to change it. That's why computer OEMs can't tell you you'll void your warranty if you install memory or open the case (or at least can't enforce it even if they do tell you that).

They could, of course, get the card and then claim that whatever failed was because you didn't install the new heatsink properly.
