Will Windows 8.1 drivers work in Windows 10?

Or will I need completely new drivers, the reason I ask is because my motherboard maker only has three Windows 10 drivers up and there should be about ten.
Will stuff like Realtek audio drive 8.1 work in 10(and others)?

I need a driver for my asus xonar d2x and they haven't even released a whql for windows 8.1 since they made the initial beta driver which I am still using.

Yes Win 8.1 drivers work in Win10. I had to do that for my SD card readers to get full speed by forcing the Win 8.1 drivers.

I am running three computers with Win 10 Pro Build 10240 which is basically what used to be called RTM.

1. 5 Years old core2duo GA Mobo.

2. 3 yeras old i5 ASRock Mobo.

3. 1 year old i7 GA Mobo.

All 3 with different types of nVidia cards.

Did have to deal with any issue of drivers.

It seems that the July 29 Upgrade will consists on installing Build 10240 + Updated that were issued since the initial release of the Build.

Give it time. Sometimes motherboard manufacturers won't update drivers for really old hardware, in which case the chip manufacturer website may need to searched. But since 10 hasn't even been released, it's too soon to tell.

To be honest, I don't remember ever having a new driver for every piece of hardware the day a new OS was released.

my main board that I intend to run Win10 on first is an Asrock x99 chipset so I would have thought that they would have released drivers for it by now.
